There are lines of people outside Art Arsenal, which is hosting the fair Art Kyiv Contemporary 2011. It seems that Art Arsenal is beginning to create real competition for the PinchukArtCenter given the number of visitors that want to take a look at the most commercial works of contemporary art. Although Art Kyiv is an event aimed at promoting the local art market, the number of visitors that will never buy anything or even think about doing so exceeds the number of potential buyers by tens, if not hundreds, of times.
What do they see? What are they thinking? How do they react to the art?
